अपराध सहस्राणि क्रियन्तेऽहर्निशं मया |
दासोऽयं इति मां मत्वा क्षमस्व पुरुषोत्तम ||

(Translation: Oh Lord, considering me as your servant, forgive the thousands of errors committed by me day in and day out.)

I remember writing this blog (A need for forgiveness) a long time back. Not too long though. Suddenly, I feel this intense urge to republish this. Perhaps, because I have met a few amazing people from then to now. Perhaps, I needed to recall this. Or perhaps, someone had to know this. I don’t know. And after a very long time, I’m okay with it.

When I first thought of forgiveness, as a writing prompt for my practice, all I focused on is on framing the sentences out of my feelings. Later, unknowingly I poured everything I know and understand about forgiving people around us.

Now, when I look back, it's not only about forgiving people around. It is also about forgiving ourselves.

As humans, we are not immune to mistakes. We make them. We mess things up. We take wrong decisions. We mourn that. And when we focus enough, we eventually learn something out of it!

Then, why punish ourselves for all of it? Why sulk in guilt? Why give up on a bright future, due to some dark past; that’s already gone?

Pain is not bad. Crying is not cowardice. Feeling guilty for mistakes we make, is not a crime. But, not getting over all of these with time will be the next mistake.

No one decides our actions but ourselves. We decide what should hold power over us. We all have a choice to make. We can choose, strength in pain, lessons in our failures, realizations in our guilts.

Forgiving ourselves for past mistakes can not only bring peace and positivity in our lives but also gives us the courage and the ability to forgive people around us. It is necessary for our mental health. For our productivity. For success. Lastly, for that, we all deserve, every one of us, PEACE!!

Forgive…..To find the peace within!!

I wanna start by asking you a few questions.

Ever choked crying?
Ever punched a pillow so hard, that it tore into pieces?
Ever felt like killing someone?
Ever felt so broken, that you thought of ending your own life?

Have you ever forgiven the person/situation responsible for all these feelings you ever got!!??
I’m pretty sure, most of us forget to do the last thing; FORGIVE!!

We simply think, “They don’t deserve it.”
But, the fact is, it’s not for them,
It’s for ourselves, that we need to forgive.
For that priceless, precious thing we own, PEACE!!

It’s a favor you do to yourself!!

I know it seems cool.
To take revenge, to hurt them back, to do everything possible, just to prove them wrong!!
But, what next? Later??

Ever thought, by doing so, you are dedicating your whole life to that particular person/situation, behind your every pain; just to prove you were better and they were wrong!!

Now,
You may ask, “Wouldn’t it be cowardice to just forgive and do nothing!?”
I would say, “No. Not. It’s not doing nothing, but you are doing everything; in a much better way by forgiving them.”

You were hurt. You were broken. You felt hated. Later, you even had a feeling of being better than ‘KARMA.’
Isn’t this enough what it did to you?
Is it worth putting whole your time and energy over the sole reason for all these??
I have always heard people saying, we need a ‘BIG HEART’ to forgive.
I would rather say, all you should do is think.
Think if it’s worth it and make a better choice.
The choice between finding peace and evolving OR
give up your own life to live over other’s life.

Never let your pain and vengeance take over your life.
It’s your life, you own your sorrows and happiness.
Why let some bad experiences control it!?

I would rather say, all you should do is think.

Never let your pain and vengeance take over your life.
It’s your life, you own your sorrows and happiness.
Why let some bad experiences control it!?

Let go of those worst experiences and it’s reasons so that they no longer control you.
Forgive, so that it no longer bothers you!

But, you dare not FORGET it!!
Experiences, regardless of good or bad, would always be the best lessons you’ve ever got. Think!!!!!

STAY HAPPY!

MAKE SOULS AROUND YOU HAPPY!!

IT'S OUR RIGHT!!!
